Privacy Policy
DuoClash has no accounts and needs no personal information from you. The games run entirely on your phone. The only data that leaves it goes to Google, for ads and for the optional Remove Ads purchase.
The short version
- No account, no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your settings stay on your device. We have no server and no database for the game.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob, which collects device data such as the advertising ID. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first, and you can change your choice later.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
- We do not sell your data, and we use no analytics or tracking tools of our own.
1. Who we are
DuoClash is made by Ash Build, based in Texas, United States (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, email contact@ashbuild.app. Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we are the data controller for the limited data described below. Google is an independent controller for the data its advertising and billing services process.
2. Data stored only on your device
The app keeps a few small files in its private storage on your phone. They never leave it, and we cannot see them:
- Your settings: sound, music and vibration.
- Whether you have finished the intro screens, and how many times you have opened the app. This count is only used to keep ads off during your first three sessions.
- Whether you own Remove Ads, so it works offline.
Matches, scores and tournaments are played and discarded on the device. Uninstalling the app deletes all of this. Android device backup is turned off for DuoClash.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Unless you buy Remove Ads, DuoClash shows ads served by Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). No ads appear during your first three sessions, so the ad SDK is not started until then. To choose, deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the SDK collects and sends to Google:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Advertising ID (Android’s resettable ad identifier) | Ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement and, with consent where required, personalised ads |
| IP address, from which an approximate location can be inferred | Ad delivery, fraud prevention, regional rules |
| Device and app information: model, OS version, language, app version, screen size, network type | Showing an ad that fits the device, diagnostics |
| Ad interactions: views, clicks, and how long an ad is shown | Measurement, billing advertisers, fraud prevention |
This data goes directly from the SDK to Google. We only receive aggregated reports (for example, how many ads were shown) that do not identify you. Google’s use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience (rated PG or below).
Your choices about ads
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: the first time ads are about to appear, Google’s consent message asks whether you agree to personalised ads. You can change that choice at any time in Settings → Privacy Choices in the app.
- Everywhere: on Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone’s Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google → Ads). If you delete the ID, the SDK cannot use it.
- Remove Ads: after the one-time purchase, the app no longer shows ads.
4. In-app purchase (Google Play Billing)
The optional Remove Ads purchase is processed by Google Play. Google handles your payment details and never shares them with us. The app receives only the information needed to unlock the purchase: the product ID, a purchase token, the purchase state (for example, paid or pending) and whether it has been acknowledged. The app uses this to unlock the feature, confirm the purchase with Google, and restore it if you reinstall. Refunds follow Google Play’s policies. See the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Payments Privacy Notice.
5. App permissions
- Internet and network state: to load ads and reach Google Play. The games themselves work offline.
- Vibration: haptic feedback, which you can turn off in Settings.
- Advertising ID: used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK as described above.
- Google Play billing: for the Remove Ads purchase.
DuoClash does not ask for, or have access to, your location (GPS), contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
6. Sharing and selling
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for any purpose other than the advertising and billing described above. We have no analytics, crash-reporting or attribution tools of our own. Under some US state laws, using an advertising identifier for personalised ads can count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising”. You can opt out of that by deleting or resetting your advertising ID, or by turning off personalised ads on your device as described in section 3.
7. Children
DuoClash is a party game for teens and adults playing together. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app in a way that sent data to us, contact us and we will help remove it.
8. Retention and deletion
We hold no personal data on any server of our own, so there is no account to delete. To remove everything:
- Uninstall DuoClash. This deletes all of its on-device data.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings. This disconnects the ad data Google holds from your device.
- To ask Google about data it holds, use Google’s privacy tools.
Your Remove Ads purchase stays linked to your Google account by Google Play, so you can restore it on a new phone.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we do not hold personal data about you, most requests are best handled by the steps in section 8 or through Google. We will gladly help: email contact@ashbuild.app. We answer within 30 days. Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis for ads is your consent (for personalised ads) or our legitimate interest in funding a free game (for non-personalised ads), and for purchases it is performing our contract with you.
10. Security and international transfers
The app’s on-device files are in Android’s private app storage. Data sent to Google is sent over encrypted connections and may be processed in the United States and other countries under Google’s safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Changes to this policy
If DuoClash starts handling data differently, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change ships. Important changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
